Bure Valley Railway is Norfolk’s longest narrow gauge steam railway and runs between the market town of Aylsham and the bustling Broads town of Wroxham, and is within easy reach of Norwich and the coast. The nine-mile line runs through the picturesque Bure Valley countryside, with a combined train and cruise on the Norfolk Broads available.

The railway’s facilities include an 80-seater Café at Aylsham Station, which can provide everything from a cup of tea to a full meal, a gift shop, free car and coach parking and disabled toilets at both Aylsham and Wroxham Stations. All carriages are fully enclosed with wheelchair access on every train. Dogs welcome.

Trains operate on a daily basis from the beginning of April to the end of October with special events throughout the year.

    Mothers VIP Day at Bure Valley Railway

    Join the Bure Valley Railway for a special train and lunch package on Mothers Day. Starting from Wroxham, experience a nostalgic journey by steam through nine miles of Norfolk countryside before arriving at Aylsham.

    On arrival receive a complimentary drink and sit down to a two-course set lunch, including coffee and mints, at the Whistlestop. In addition, each mother receives a small gift.

    Once lunch is finished, the train awaits for a leisurely journey back to Wroxham.

    Limited spaces are available for this special package and therefore pre-booking is essential.

    Alternatively, treat Mum to a steam train ride starting from either Aylsham or Wroxham and stop at the Whistlestop for a cream tea or browse in our large gift and souvenir shop for a little memento to take home. Trains depart from Aylsham at 11:00 & 14:20 and Wroxham at 12:10.
